Minutes of Annual Meeting
Meeting Place, Jaffrey Center, N.H.
August 2, 1997
President Bill Jackson called the 38th meeting of the Association to order at 11:05 a.m. 34 members and guests were present. New member Stephen Schroeder and guest Irving Wile were introduced; new members Wayne and Lisa Cooper were not present.
Members approved the minutes of the 1996 annual meeting.
Members approved the financial report as presented by Treasurer Ginnie Wile. The Treasurer's motion to continue the dues at $50 was passed unanimously.
The President presented the results of the water testing that indicated water quality to be similar to previous years, i.e. generally very good conditions. The water draw down will be one board at the dam this year, and three boards next year as planned.
Members approved the actions of the Board of Directors during the 1996-1997 year.
Members approved a slate of officers for the 1997-1998 year. They are: Jo Benedek, President; Don Strickland, Vice President; Ginnie Wile, Secretary-Treasurer; Lee Bruder and Bernard Hampsey two year terms as Directors.
Ed Wheeler expressed his concern regarding the dusty road conditions and requested the Board to contact the town to find out whether something could be done to reduce the dust. Bill Jackson said he would call the Town Manager.
Arnie Wile mentioned the new family of ducks on the pond and whether it might become a problem if they increased in large numbers. It was brought out that the state recommends they not be fed, since there is plenty of natural food available.
Members expressed their appreciation to Bill Jackson for his dedication and service as President of the Association.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:40 a.m. for luncheon at the Monadnock Inn.
Respectfully submitted, Ginny Wile, Secretary/Treasurer
